hooray for the warm weather! i love love love the sunshine and seeing it shining when i wake up automatically makes my day a million times better. i am loving the summer so far. what better way to kick off a good old summer than to travel to cali cali? that we did. bryce's parents planned a trip to newport beach. them, amy, and matthew left a few days before us because bryce and i had to work for a couple of days before we could leave. it was kind of crazy getting on the road because bryce's work schedule changed like five times but finally we were on our way! driving to california always seems to take fooorever. and especially this time because we didn't leave until like five pm.
but it's always fun driving with the husby.
we finally got there late late. but as we arrived we got the great news that amy and matt were engaged! we were so excited to see them and are so happy they will be getting married in august :) the best foursome ever will be forever together! woot! so of course when we got there we were exhausted so we headed right to bed. ps it felt so weird to finally be able to sleep in the same bed as my love for the first vanchiere family trip ever. it was so nice :) we woke up bright and early the next morning and headed off to disneyland. unfortunately i didn't take any pictures on this day, i was too busy being a child. i LOVE disneyland. so many childhood memories are there and i just love every square inch of that place. it was so much fun. also i'm a huge fan of the world of color show and would highly recommend it to anyone. it was fab.
the next day we were stoked to head to "poppy beach" (as amy and matt named it) to catch some rays. the boys wanted to boogie board and i'm always down for some sun bathing and reading on a beach. who isn't?? buuut not so much. in newport they have what's called the "june gloom" and we experienced that big time that day. it was cold and windy and not very pleasant. didn't put one toe in the water at that beach. but it was still fun to watch the boys board and read a little. we went back to the condo and sat in the hot tub for a while which felt tremendous. that night we drove down to the pier and walked around for a while. it was beautiful. the next day me, husby, and the engaged couple wanted to go to the beach at the pier and hope for sunshine. the boys were excited because the tide was better for boogie boarding and it was slightly warmer than the day before. me and amy read and watched our men and it got way warm for a while! i got slightly burnt in fact. enjoy some views.

that pretty much sums up our trip. it was fun and relaxing and too short. love fun in the sun with my man. can't wait for more summer activities :)
